Who is Tula Pink?” you ask. “A dynamic young designer who is lots of fun!” we would answer, having met her at Quilt Market. You get a sense from this as she describes her design process: “Everything I design starts from a single drawing which multiplies into a mountain of grid paper and pencil lead that seems to trail behind me wherever I go. I often wake up in the middle of the night to the light crunching noise of some forgotten sketch trying to nap under my pillow. I am what some would call obsessive but what I like to refer to as dedicated. When I set out to draw my first fabric collection, I started with the usual variety of paisleys and flowers, stripes and dots. It didn’t take long for the shapes to begin migrating into a delicate camouflage of hidden creatures and themes.”
